Display modes

Image, video, and shopping results can be laid out to suit the query. A Display switch sits at the top of those results.

Image layouts

  • Grid — uniform tiles; the densest overview.
  • Justified — rows filled edge to edge, every image at its true aspect ratio.
  • Masonry — flowing columns, nothing cropped.

Video and shopping layouts

  • Grid — cards.
  • List — one result per row, with more room for titles and detail.

What Suede remembers

Your choice sticks per vertical, on the device where you made it — pick Masonry for images once and image searches on that device keep using it. A signed-in account can also set a default for images (Settings → Search → Images) and videos (Settings → Search → Videos). The account default applies on devices where you haven't picked a mode on the results page; once you have, the device's own choice wins.

Continuous loading keeps working in every image layout, and search filters apply regardless of the mode.

Web and News additionally offer a result layout switch — Standard rows or Square cards. It works the same way: each type's default lives in its settings, the designs live in Settings → Layouts, and the switch on the results page wins on that device.
