Appearance

The appearance controls sit at the top of Settings → General. They apply the instant you choose them — no Save button — and they are saved to your account, so signing in on another device brings your choices along. A small script applies the stored choices before the page first paints, so the page never flashes the wrong theme.

Theme

Three choices: System, Light, and Dark. System follows your device's own light/dark setting and changes with it; Light and Dark fix the theme regardless of the device.

High contrast

An independent on/off control that raises contrast for maximum legibility. It works with any theme — high contrast can be on whether you run System, Light, or Dark.

Text size

Scales the interface text: small, medium (the default), large, or extra large. This is Suede's own scaling and is separate from your browser's or operating system's text zoom, which Suede also respects.

Display language

The language of Suede's interface — its menus, labels, and buttons. Six are available: English, العربية (Arabic), Español, Français, Deutsch, and 日本語 (Japanese). The change applies at once and is saved to your account. Selecting Arabic also switches the interface to right-to-left.
