Autosuggest

As you type in the search box, Suede offers completions in a dropdown. Two of them are special: type ! and it lists the bangs that match; type @ and it lists everything you can activate — snaps, views, and the built-in context codes. Search-Control commands are discoverable from the box, without a trip to Settings.

Ordinary completions

Begin typing a query and the dropdown shows query completions — the usual address-bar behavior. Choose one (with the mouse, or ↑ / ↓ and Enter) and the search runs. These completions come from Suede's own corpus, computed in memory; the box never sends your keystrokes to an upstream service.

Inline ! and @ discovery

When the word at the caret begins with ! or @, the dropdown adds sections drawn from Search Control:

• ! — matching bangs (under Shortcuts). Typing !g surfaces the Google route bang. With Bang compatibility on, your @ codes appear here too.
• @ — everything you can activate: your snaps, every view, and the built-in context codes. Typing @d surfaces a @docs snap alongside @day.

The dropdown is group-aware: mid-AND-group, it completes the tail — typing @docs+we offers @docs+week.

Suede's built-in catalog — the stock bangs under !; the built-in views and context codes under @ — appears alongside anything you've created, and each row is badged Built-in or Yours so the two never blur. Muted and disabled commands stay out of the list, and matching is by prefix on the trigger, slug, or code.

Choosing a command inserts the token into the query rather than searching, so you can finish the rest of the query — @academic followed by your terms, @docs followed by your terms — and the dropdown then offers completions for that scoped search.

Your own commands live under Settings → Search Control; the box is just a faster way to reach them.
